If you’ve just accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, congratulations! You have made the most important decision of your life. The Bible says:
“If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Look, all things have become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17 (MEV)
This is the beginning of a brand-new life with God. Here’s what’s next:
When you put your faith in Jesus, your sins are washed away, and you are given a new heart. God’s love for you is limitless, and nothing can separate you from Him.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” – 1 John 1:9 (MEV)
A relationship with God is like any other relationship—it grows with time. The best way to get to know Him is through His Word, the Bible.
Where to start?
Begin with the book of John in the New Testament. It will help you understand who Jesus is and what He has done for you.
Prayer is simply talking with God. He cares about every detail of your life. Thank Him, ask for guidance, and share your heart with Him.
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.” – Philippians 4:6 (MEV)
You were not meant to walk this journey alone. Find a church that believes in the Bible and teaches the love and power of Jesus.
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, especially as you see the Day approaching.” – Hebrews 10:25 (MEV)
Tell someone about your decision! When we share what Jesus has done in our lives, it strengthens our faith and encourages others.
“Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” – Mark 16:15 (MEV)
Baptism is an outward declaration of your inward faith. It’s a step of obedience and a powerful symbol of your new life in Christ.
“We were therefore buried with Him by baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” – Romans 6:4 (MEV)
